Unit 2 LO2 assesment

 Unit 2: LO2
End of LO Assessment
Explain three things you would expect to be included in a client’s brief:
(2 marks) the explicit requirements (things clearly stated by the client as to what they want included in the finished result)
(2 marks) the constraints ( the boundaries that are present and that the project must work around)
(2 marks) the hype of product the client wants to be made, and how long they have to make it.

What are the six types of client brief? (6 marks)
formal, informal, negotiated, contractual, commission, tender

Choose two types of client brief. Explain the creative process you would use for each client brief:
(3 marks) informal - The client will discuss their requirements on a telephone call. There is no document provided. Client and producing organisation will come to a verbal agreement over the product to be produced.
(3 marks) commission - A client will publish an advert that shows that they need media product to be created, and request bids from production companies. When the client and production companies have an agreement, they will discuss estimated costs, timescales and how the product will be produced.

Give two examples of information you would need in order to get started on the production of a digital media product. (2 marks)
The time in which the product needs to be completed. The estimated costs and constraints

Identify two potential approaches you could take when responding to a client’s brief.
(1 mark)  mind map of ideas / swot analysis
(1 mark)  mock up of product

Name three categories that media producers use to define target audience.
(1 mark) demographics
(1 mark) psychographics
(1 mark) geographic location

Background:
Sit on my Pet is a brand new pet sitting app, intended to link pet owners with potential pet sitters. All pet sitters will be vetted through a careful system including references and security checks.
The Product:
The app has been designed by a team of programmers who will match pet owners and sitters based on:
Geographical location
Suitability
Availability
All pet sitters are paid a standard fee of £10 per visit to pet throughout the duration of the owners’ time away. For £25 per day/night the sitters will stay in the house with the pet. There will be a charge of £5 per walk for dogs on top of visit and staying costs.
What the client wants:
Whilst there are several pet sitting apps available, Sit on my Pet benefits from additional security checks which will put any pet owners mind at ease. The client wants an exciting, dynamic advertising campaign to launch their app into the market.
Read the media brief and answer the following questions:

Who is the Target Audience for this app? (1 mark)
Middle class middle age  pet owners + people looking for jobs / who have a high interest in animal care

Identify two ways in which you would approach the targeting of this group:

(1 mark) pet owners - emphasis on a stress free app as their lives are probably quite busy with jobs/children/pets
(1 mark) pet sitters - emphasis on a pet friendly and animal environment to appear to the love of animals

For each explain why it would be effective:
(2 marks) they are probably quite stressed out by other elements of their lives so emphasising the stress free aspects of the app will entice people who need things to be quick and easy so they can get back to organising their lives.
(2 marks)  the pet sitters likely are enthusiastic about animal care, otherwise they would the looking for jobs where they have to take care of pets. This means emphasising the cus/ cuddly aspect will draw the pet sitters in

Select any of the possible creative processes available to you (mood board/mind-map/SWOT analysis) and respond to the client’s brief: (8marks)
