Road safety comuter game age considerations

How will the games target age range affect the game design? (6-10)

Controls
The controls are aimed at younger children, so it will have to be obvious how to use them, including a tutorial before the game begins identifying how each controls works. They only have small hands, so each button will have to be close together, but its is likely the buttons will have to be big because their motor skills and aim for pressing the controls aren’t fully developed.

Scoring system
The scoring system should also be fairly simple. Starting extremely simple on the first few levels and advancing as the levels progress. This way they aren’t overwhelmed by the complexity when they fits start playing, but it naturally gets introduced to them as they advance

Colours
The company has to use colour that are appealing to all children, not just one specific gender. This means not too much of one stereotypical “boy” or “girl” colour as it may make the other gender less interested. As well as this, the colours should be bright as they catch the eyes and keep the attention of children who often loose focus. However they can’t be too bright as it may be overwhelming and make the children uninterested. primary colours.

Instructions given
the instructions given should be straight forward and easy to understand. There should also be an option where the instructions can be explained again, not just at the beginning of the game as they might forge and get frustrated f they don’t understand what to do. The instructions should also be interactional so that the children don’t get bored reading a list of instructions.
