welsh mocha

product ideas  :

Idea one - company logo could be a circle with a bright green background with a grey silhouette of coffee beans. The green ties into the idea of being echo friendly as the colours are heavily correlated with each other , and the beans make sure the people who may see the symbol on the street know that it is a coffee shop. On the t-shirt, there can be a small version of the logo on the front on the left hand side of the shirt with the words “welsh mocha” underneath, and on the back there can be a coffee cup wearing sunglasses with a recycling symbol in the middle of the cup and the brand name on it. This will be done using graphic design to look very much like a cartoon, which will draw in people of all ages to want to enjoy their coffee as the design will be general enough for all types of people to enjoy. As well as this, the sunglasses link back to the corporate idea of relaxation .

Idia two - company logo could be a circle with a small wave going through it, on one half is  a light green colour and the other a brown colour. The green inks to being echo friendly, the brown links to the fact that it is a coffee shop. On the back of the t-shirt in big words “mocha coffee” with an image of someone lying on a beach with an iced coffee (linking in with the relaxation idea)

Targeting a brief

The audience considerations form the Welsh Mocha brief : they will have to consider if they want their product to be mainstream or niche - most likely they will want it to be mainstream as they want as mean people as possible to buy their coffee however this could use issues as its difficult to make a product marketable to that large of a range of people. As well as this they will have to consider the socio-economics of the people that they are are targeting to - this will probably be people with a fair amount of disposable income if they are to be loyal customers who regularly spend their money on high quality coffee. Furthermore they will have to consider psychographics, taking into the Idea of being eco and environmentally friendly, targeting towards people who’s lifestyles tend to centre around health.

These consider may affect the final design as this perhaps would need to be altered, for example buying material from an eco friendly manufacturer which might increase the potential costs. As well as this, they have to think about what would be most appealing, so not including niche interests or references that not many people would understand.

Reasons why the wide target age range could be an issue :

welsh mocha wants to target a very wide raneg of people and this could be an issue becasue The product may become too vague, in the companies attempt to include everyone, the product may become too vague or uninteresting for anyone to be interested in buying. Everyone becomes more inclined to buy something when it includes something they are interested in - it peaks their want for the product - so the company may make their product so general that it doesn’t actually have anything unique or interesting about it causing it to be undesirable.
The advertising strategy may be harmed. It is much more difficult to form an ad campaign that everyone will enjoy because everyone is unique and has their own niches that they belong to. Similarly to the product itself, the marketing may also suffer as it becomes possibly too general to spark any interest in looking further into the product.

One reason why he full target age range should be sampled when gaining feedback about the design is that you are then able to ask a representative group about their opinions. If the sampling is done well it will mean that the answers you get from the sample can be generalisable to the wider target population, leading to adjustments to the product to be made to better suit the potential customers.
